The Claridon Township Maintenance Department employs two full time and one part time person. They have a variety of duties within the township.
ROADS: Claridon is responsible for the care and upkeep of 14.25 miles of roads in the township (see map). During the summer there is crack sealing, striping, and mowing along the roadside. In the winter, a majority of the time is spent plowing and salting the roads. They also maintain road signs. Along with this, workers also perform regular upkeep and minor repairs to Township equipment such as plow trucks and mowers.
As a service to residents, Maintenance will also install drive pipes. Send the completed request form to the township.
CEMETERIES: The township has two active cemeteries, Maintenance personnel are responsible for preparing the grave site for burials and for the landscaping in East Claridon and Claridon Center Cemeteries.
PARKS: Claridon Township Park's picinic pavilion, ball fields, and playground are kept up by the maintenance department.
